hey, do you use a light meter? ever? i just got a snazzy new accessory, an expo disc filter, used for creating a white balance grey frame, and it can be used on the camera to act as a light meter. obviously it wont perform as well as a real light meter, but i'm just unsure of whether a light meter is worth it yet. lenses first, huh. haha

pretty good, thanks! almost decided on lenses so far. i'm working full time at the bike shop, hoping to put it all towards camera gear. (i'm at a decent nirvana with bike gear). uhhhm... thinkin
canon 70-200 f/2.8 is...
canon 24-70 f/28...
maybe a wide angle instead of the 24-70...
aand a canon 580 flash. seems pretty dece, i'd say. reading the reviews of my lense compared to what i'm looking at is making look foreward to most anything. may take a photography class at a community college this summer too! trying tto find a hookup for doing shooting for mmy old swim team, haha

basically an io contact is a contact that an electrical signal can be sent through and recieved through. but i went to the camera shop today, they said i can customise a push button trigger, so im going to try that. i think they cost about £20 or something, and they are easy to get.

yey, i heard you do a lot of self portrait stuff, so i was wondering if you could help me. im planing on making a infrared trip trigger so i can take self portraits, my dad works in the electronics industry, so i have more or less the things i need, i was wondering what i would need to connect the closing contact to the camera, and is the hot shoe a IO (in out contact)
any help is appreciated.

ok thanks. Does the diffuser dramatically reduce the brightness of the flash or will dialing down the flash intensity give you the same result?
